Rival Says Multex Made Overtures About Sell-Off

Multex Systems Inc. last month approached archrival First Call Corp. about a buy-out. While Multex denies it's shopping itself around, First Call officials say sell-off talks indeed took place. Multex's Publisher service and First Call's Research Direct have been battling it out in the full-text, graphical research distribution service market for over two years.
