The European Principal Traders Association (Epta), a subsidiary of the Futures Industry Association (FIA), announced today that Johannah Ladd has taken on the role of secretary general at the lobby group.
FIA Epta represents European firms that trade on their own capital, and has been a vocal proponent of high-frequency trading (HFT) businesses over recent years. Ladd replaces Mark Spanbroek, chairman at CME Europe, and a former director at HFT specialist Getco, in the role. He will take on the position of vice chairman within the trade body.
Ladd, who recently worked as general counsel for global prop shop Flow Traders, has also held roles at the European Climate Exchange and Fortis Bank Global Clearing. Before her financial-sector experience, she worked as a reporter for Dow Jones's London bureau, covering energy markets.
According to FIA Epta's statement, Ladd holds law degrees from US and Dutch institutions. She will be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Remco Lenterman, chair of the association, remains in his role.
Bill Murphy, CTO of Blackstone, once again joins the podcast to discuss the private equity firm's new offices, designed to house its innovations team.Subscribe to Weekly Wrap emails
