Quotron Launches Local Servers From IBM And Intel To Replace Proprietary Q1000

Touting its metamorphosis into "a hardware-independent company," Quotron Systems Inc. announced two UNIX-based local hosts that it will offer in place of its proprietary Q1000 server, the last unit of which rolled off the production line in February.

The move, which will add the Q5300 -- an Intel Corp. 80386- driven Model 80 microcomputer -- and the IBM PS/2 Model 80 PC, was long expected and is seen as an effort to answer users' calls for a more open delivery architecture.
