Bloomberg Insists On Automatic Software Downloads For All Clients


NEW YORK--Bloomberg has changed the rules on the delivery of its automatic software updates, affecting customers that have a large number of Bloomberg terminals on site.

Sources say Bloomberg sales representatives hand-delivered a letter over a month ago to top clients, including Deutsche Bank, HSBC, JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers, indicating that Bloomberg would no longer honor its "exception list"--its group of top customers, who were not obliged to receive automatic downloads of software.
