Bankers Trust's Magellan Platform Brings Real-Time Data To Merchant Bankers

Bankers Trust Co. has begun testing a data distribution platform that it built internally for use by some 450 investment bankers and corporate financiers, known at Bankers Trust as merchant bankers. Built according to an internally designed architecture, the Microsoft Corp. Windows-based platform incorporates a plethora of off-the-shelf applications and real- time data from S&P Comstock.

Begun in January of 1990 as a research project to define a standard client/server architecture for the bank
