Kx Seeks Speed With IT Changes

Time-series analysis and tick database provider Kx Systems will release this week the latest iteration of its kdb+ database, which features changes to its technology for improved performance and efficiencies.

Due to client demand, the database now runs on commodity Intel chip-based hardware running Sun Microsystems' Solaris operating system. Previously, it ran on Solaris with Sun's SPARC-based hardware, Microsoft Windows and Linux.
