Outages Spur Interest in Non-Reuters Feeds

Reuters’ recent outages may be contributing to increased interest in alternative datafeed solutions, industry sources tell Inside Market Data.

The trend comes as rival Bloomberg begins a world tour of 15 cities to promote its data solutions, including the Server API and B-Pipe datafeed.

The outages affected data delivered via Reuters’ IDN (Integrated Data Network) on Aug. 23 and the vendor’s Dealing 3000 system during Asian hours on Sept. 8 (IMD, Sept. 4; Dealing With Technology, Sept. 11)
