The conspicuous absence of Macintosh hardware in the trading and brokerage arena may be over, as San Francisco-based Tri Star Market Data Inc. plans a January release for MarketMax, a Macintosh-based workstation that displays market data from Telekurs Inc.'s Ticker IV digital data feed.

Also said to be gravitating towards a Macintosh solution is Quotron Systems Inc. Sources say Quotron plans to invest in Aria International and distribute its Macintosh-based workstation system. Aria collapsed
