Sun, Tarantella Work To Host Reuters 3000 Xtra Remotely

LONDON--Sun Microsystems and remote access software company Tarantella are working with a large German bank to deploy Reuters 3000 Xtra and other applications offsite, using Sun's Sun Ray thin client solution.

Charles Stewart, European sales vice president at Tarantella, says Tarantella hosts the Reuters multi-user server and delivers screen functionality and mouse clicks to the desktop via Sun Ray. The Reuters hardware and software remain in Reuters' data center in Geneva, he adds. The project
