Nasdaq Relinquishes Data-Fee Collection To Redistributors

WASHINGTON--Nasdaq is shifting responsibility for exchange-fee collection to its redistributing market data vendors. The move is expected to result in those vendors' introducing an administrative fee for handling the extra work, and in turn higher fees for customers.
Nasdaq currently bills customers directly, based on entitlement information from its redistributors. But Tom Davin, director of market data services at Nasdaq, describes that arrangement as "a flawed process."
