FIXML is an XML derivative of the widely successful FIX (Financial Information Exchange) protocol. Like FIX, the FIXML protocol is developed and maintained by FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL), an independent industry organization comprised of varying members of the financial community. FPL formed the FIXML working group in May 1998.
