Dow Jones Telerate did much better during the first quarter of this year than the same period last year: In particular, its income rose nearly 40 percent. But Telerate's revenue grew far more modestly, with just 9.7 percent more in 1Q94 than 1Q93. What's more, part of the first quarter revenue growth came from price hikes; Telerate raised prices in the U.S. by 3.5 to 4 percent last quarter -- at a time when Bloomberg and Reuters have been keeping them flat.
