Credit data provider Markit Group and pan-European exchange Euronext are the latest to sign up for the Industry Classification Benchmark, a classification system created by FTSE and Dow Jones Indexes, it was announced last week.
Markit will offer ICB alongside competing classifications such as GICS from MSCI and Standard & Poor's to clients of its dividend and index management service, says managing director John Price.
But it will use ICB as the exclusive classification system for its credit
