The Chicago Board of Trade has tapped Daniel Rooney as vice president, market data services. Rooney's position is a new one; it is the most senior-level market data position that has existed at the exchange. The appointment of Rooney, previously a senior vice president at Reuters America Inc., reflects the increasing importance of market data as a source of revenue for the exchanges.
