Exchange Revenues Rocket in Q1

While exchanges such as Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange have increased their revenues as a result of acquisitions (IMD, April 24), the latest round of exchanges' financial results show strong organic growth.

The International Securities Exchange grew its revenues by 29 percent over Q1 last year to $47.5 million, while net income increased 40 percent to a record $12.4 million for the quarter. President and chief executive David Krell cited the exchange's expanded line-up of market data
