CLSA Preps Low-Latency Data Platform

The market data infrastructure went online around three months ago, initially only covering CLSA's equities trading business in Japan and Australia. Broker officials say all Asian markets covered by CLSA will be on the system by mid-2008, providing equities, futures and options data.

T. Rajah, chief information officer at CLSA, says the primary goal of the project is to reduce latency in the face of trading volumes that have risen by between 30 and 40 percent at CLSA over the past three years
