Bursa Malaysia's New Fees Cause Concern


Bursa Malaysia's decision to charge for its equity data has caused concern among brokers and vendors in the market.

The new fees—which came into effect on Oct. 1—mark the first time that the exchange has charged for equities market information. A source says the exchange has been charging for derivatives data since January 2003.

A spokesperson for Bursa Malaysia did not respond to requests for comment by press time.
