Amex Spends $10 Million on Data Warehouse


The American Stock Exchange (Amex) is spending $10 million to implement a data warehouse that will handle the data used by its five product lines: equities, options, exchange traded funds, structured products and bonds.

Despite the cost of the project, "we still expect to see fairly good savings as a result of the data warehouse implementation," says Ravi Apte, executive vice president and chief technology officer at Amex, who spoke at last week’s Data Management & STP for the Buy Side confer
