Merrill Lynch Extends Contract For Dow Jones News

Merrill Lynch & Co. has signed a three-year contract extension with Dow Jones & Co. for the vendor's Dow Jones News Service. The agreement, which runs through the end of 1996, suggests that -- contrary to recent reports in the general press -- the firm will stick with Dow Jones' news service as the core source of news for its 19,000 or so retail quote system users.
