NEW YORK--Cantor Fitzgerald has created a unit dubbed Global Information Services that will package and sell its data via vendors and direct to end users in the form of news, commentary and analytic services. The unit's first offering, an equity product called The Morning News, goes live tomorrow.
In packaging and selling Cantor data, Global Information Services is treading on the turf of Market Data Corp., which has historically been Cantor's market data vending sidekick.
