NEW YORK--Having missed out on buying Dow Jones Markets, Cantor Fitzgerald LP appears to be evaluating its options with respect to its market data business. While most industry attention has been focused on a possible conflict with Bridge Information Systems over fee-liable screens, a more immediate target has emerged: Market Data Corp.

Cantor earlier this month filed suit against MDC, Chicago Board Brokerage and others, seeking to enjoin them from launching MarketPower, an electronic trading
