NEW JERSEY--Bloomberg plans to go live with a new backup data center based in New Jersey. As a result, Bloomberg's current London-based data center will be closed down within the next year.

According to sources, Bloomberg is spending approximately $30 million on the development. A spokeswoman for Bloomberg declined to comment on the price but confirmed that the company is currently in a transition phase, which involves testing of the new site in parallel with the London site.
