Tokyo Looks at New Data System


The Tokyo Stock Exchange is contemplating the replacement of its market data system following delays in information delivery over the past few weeks, a spokesperson for the exchange tells Inside Market Data.

"We are considering replacing the whole system," he says, although he emphasizes that no decisions have been made so far.

The exchange has suffered repeated delays due to increases in volume. For example, the spokesperson says, on July 3 it had 2.6 million orders compared with an average
