xCelor Preps Stripped Switch for Low-Latency Data Multiplexing

Chicago-based data technology and feed handler vendor xCelor is testing the prototype of a stripped-down switch that provides data multiplexing -- sending copies of the same data from one incoming stream to multiple outgoing ports -- with less than two nanoseconds of latency, for data systems co-located in exchange datacenters.

The vendor has been working on the device, dubbed XPR (xCelor Port Replicator), for the past couple of months, and is now testing a prototype with a high-frequency
