User Deployments Center on Cost Control

In the current environment, firms seeking to save money found that vendor systems could prove more cost-effective than those developed in-house. For example, proprietary trading firm Think Trade replaced its in-house developed messaging system with PrismTech's OpenSplice DDS (Data Distribution Service) to manage data latency within the firm's automated trading system, after finding that upgrading its existing system would cost more than purchasing a vendor solution (IMD, July 14).
