Increased accountability for governance may make 2016 the year that financial institutions break down risk silos, says Brian Gregory, vice president of market management and non-financial risk/GRC at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. 

In 2015, the Financial Conduct Authority published the final rules of the Senior Managers Regime (SMR). These are among several new rules instituted in the UK that aim to bring individual, personal accountability to financial services.
