The system behind the issuing of the ‘barcodes for finance'—the Global Legal Entity Identifier System (GLEIS)—is taking the next step in the process of collecting data from legal entities.

Robin Doyle, chair of the LEI Trade Association and managing director in the office of regulatory affairs at JP Morgan, told the North American Financial Information Summit in New York in May that the GLEIS's oversight committee has published guidelines for the collection of direct and ultimate parent
