UBS Joins Chi-X Consortium
UBS AG has acquired an equity stake in alternative trading systems (ATSs) operator Chi-X Global Holdings LLC, in an undisclosed deal.
The firm joins a consortium of five financial institutions who recently acquired minority holdings in the company, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Getco LLC, QuantLab Group LP, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Instinet Incorporated remains the largest equity holder through a subsidiary.
"We are pleased to welcome UBS to our group of world class, distinguished equity partners," says Tal Cohen, CEO at Chi-X Global. "As we continue to expand our global presence through new product offerings and strategic growth opportunities, we look forward to working closely with our investors and market participants globally."
