TIAA/CREF: Two Groups, Two Strategies, Run Funds For $100 Billion Pension Plan
TECHNOLOGY STRATEGIES
The two arms of Teachers Insurance & Equity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA/CREF) use distinctly different investment strategies. Currently, the technology-oriented strategies adopted by CREF are producing better results than TIAA's more traditional investment policies.
TIAA/CREF runs over $100 billion, with CREF responsible for about $45 billion and TIAA responsible for about $60 billion. Together, TIAA and CREF offer insurance and pension plan benefits to about 1.5 million
