Fannie Mae Allocates $60 Million To Build Data Collection, Distribution System


Federal National Mortgage Association, more affectionately known as Fannie Mae, has allocated $60 million for Project 2000, a far-reaching plan to build a distributed, workstation-based data and analytics system. Fannie Mae will use Project 2000 to collect, store and distribute loan and mortgage pool data, analytics and eventually pricing information on the mortgage-backed securities (MBSs) and real estate mortgage investment conduits (REMICs) it issues.
