Bear Stearns To Use Interbase To Consolidate Proprietary Data

Bear Stearns & Co. is consolidating its fixed-income analytics and pricing databases using an Interbase Corp. relational database management system running on networked DEC VAX 6500-series processors in New York. The firm will use the consolidated database to store proprietary data and research, and to drive trading analytics software running on UNIX-based workstations and X terminals already serving more than 400 traders, salesmen and researchers.
