Commodities Traders Develope Predictive Model At PaineWebber

Commodity traders at PaineWebber Inc. in New York have developed their own commodities trade recommendation system that in six months of model testing has yielded a 46% profit. The software makes buy and sell recommendations for 14 specific futures contracts, including currencies, interest rates, metals, grains and so-called softs, such as sugar and coffee.
