Morningstar Preps Automated License Transparency

The vendor has made changes to its Morningstar Direct platform to help clients ensure they are compliant with data license policies.

Data licensing is a concern for most asset managers, and data providers are looking at ways to improve that, says Lee Turner, sales director at Morningstar. “As a global account manager who looks after some of our larger clients, there are always concerns that they have the right licenses in place and that there is no license infringement,” she says. “There have been regulatory fines in the past that concern them, and they want to make sure that they’re using the data in the appropriate way.”
