Linking PC’s for massive risk and pricing calculations has become more than an experiment.

One year ago, generating risk reports and pricing models for First Union Securities fixed income and derivatives trading application was a time-intensive process that required dedicated servers.

Starting in early 2001, the firm’s corporate and investment banking division decided to change the way it processed the volumes of complex computations those reports required.
