Bankers Trust Holding Talks With Reuters To Offer Products On I.P. Sharp Network

Bankers Trust Co. is negotiating with Reuters Holdings PLC to offer banking products on the Ipsanet network operated by Reuters subsidiary I.P. Sharp, according to potential customers.

This would allow qualified Sharp subscribers to buy and sell foreign currencies and borrow money in order to settle an international securities trade.

Sources say any agreement between Reuters and Bankers Trust would not be exclusive and that other banks would have the opportunity to put their products on the Sharp
