Commercial Paper Market Will Convert To Book Entry

The Public Securities Association wants to take the paper out of the $360 billion commercial paper market.

An ad hoc committee of the industry trade group has recommended that commercial paper be issued in book-entry form through the Depository Trust Co.

The recommendation, which was made to PSA's money market committee, was announced at the association's operations conference held in New York March 3.

Caroline Benn, a PSA spokeswoman, says it is likely that the DTC will run a book-entry commercial
