Digesting MiFIR's Technical Standards

In late September, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published its final report on the Recommended Technical Standards (RTS) for the implementation of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and its attendant regulation, MiFIR. The standards translate how the complex legislation will apply in practice to market participants, market infrastructures and national supervisors, ESMA said in a press release.

The overarching intent of the MiFID II and MiFIR is
