Standard Chartered Takes Stake in Chinese Datacenter Operator Chayora

The funding will provide long-term support for its datacenter construction projects in China.

Officials say the investment provides "substantial long-term equity" for the anchor datacenters in Chayora's planned Tianjin and Hangzhou campuses, and triggers matching equity from Chayora's other domestic investors.

Chayora chief operating officer Jonathan Berney says the vendor is now positioned to offer "large and long-term scalable, reliable facilities, superior economics and high supply confidence for power and fiber solutions.
