Corporate Actions Webcast: Feeling the Heat of Automation

irdmicrophone

Automation of corporate actions processing is heating up. As the Lepus Corporate Actions Survey with global financial institutions, sponsored by SmartStream, found, 70% of firms plan to automate processing in the next two years. This webcast explored how increasing use of corporate actions in firms' front offices and new requirements for related derivative contracts and short selling could complicate these automation efforts. Panelists examined how this environment will shape tactical and strategic processing needs, and what benefits can be derived from automating corporate actions data processing. Firms have to decide if hosted solutions are right for them.

During this webcast, panelists discuss:

• How can automation in the corporate actions area help mitigate risk and reduce losses?
• How is recent and regional regulation accelerating the shift from manual processing to automation?
• What are the advantages and what are the challenges of using hosted or cloud environments to store or process corporate actions?
• Assessing the importance of an integrated end to end lifecycle approach to corporate actions processing

Speakers include:
• Christine Cartwright, Head of Corporate Actions, Global Custody Europe, HSBC SECURITIES SERVICES
• Joel Brown, Director, Pricing and Corporate Actions, INVESCO
• Alan Jones, Product Manager Corporate Actions, SMARTSTREAM
• Moderator: Michael Shashoua, Editor, INSIDE REFERENCE DATA
