SEC Changes Fund Reporting Regs

The new reporting requirements will make it easier for investors and the SEC to analyze fund data.

When the new rules come into effect for all firms between December 2018 and June 2019, registered funds will have to file a new monthly portfolio reporting form (Form N-Port) and an annual reporting form that requires census-type information (Form N-CEN), with the data reported in a structured data format that will enable the SEC and investors to better analyze the data.
