Fidelity Benefits Center Will Use Web, Seeks New Sources Of Revenue

Fidelity Employee Services Co. is planning to broaden its Internet-based services, says Steven Eltrich, an executive vice president with the three-year-old division. Founded in 1995 as the Benefits Center, the unit provides back office processing for corporate plan sponsors and was given its current name last May. It's part of a major initiative by Fidelity to generate additional fee income to augment its core fund operations.

Last summer, the unit completed the overhaul of its core database
