No Major Problems At The SIA/FIF Y2K Beta Test; Now Preparing For May 1

NEW YORK--57 information providers and users participated in the February 27 Y2K market data beta test coordinated by the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and the Financial Information Forum (FIF). No significant problems were reported, although areas needing focus were highlighted with various vendor systems.

The beta test served as a trial run for the SIA/FIF industry-wide Y2K market data test scheduled for May 1.
