Can local digital data distribution systems really cut market data costs? William F. Schimoler, senior vice president of global markets/technology at Bankers Trust Co., thinks so.

Schimoler, who led the design and implementation of Bankers Trust's Broadgate trading floor in London, says the firm was able to trim its market data costs by 11 percent by installing a data distribution system based on DEC's DECtrade system architecture. Schimoler is using the savings figure to justify implementation
