UBS In New York Finishes Fixed Income Implementation Of UNIX/DOS/VMS System

The Union Bank of Switzerland's New York-based UBS Asset Management subsidiary, is close to completing a three-part portfolio management upgrade for its fixed income group. The move is aimed at consolidating the functionality of existing DOS and VMS-based systems on a Sun SPARCstation platform running UNIX.

The DOS/VMS/UNIX solution gives users a more powerful workstation platform but avoids major customization of the group's current portfolio management system and rewriting certain DOS
