The AFTAs honor the accomplishments of individuals and teams of technologists who keep their firms operating efficiently no matter the economic climate. DWT sponsors the annual awards along with sibling publications Buy Side-Technology and Waters.

Industry participants nominated candidates throughout autumn in 10 categories. The editors of the sponsoring publications winnowed down the list of finalists. The ballots were then submitted to a judging panel, consisting of Rick Berk, CIO of Brown
