The partnership will streamline Swiss trading activities for both operators' clients.

BX Swiss has given the green light to BATS's registration as a Swiss Trade Data Monitor, giving firms domiciled outside of Switzerland the ability to report over-the-counter trades in BX-traded Swiss securities to BXTR, the London-headquartered firm's reporting service.

"We made our name by offering solutions that both improve market efficiency and reduce customer costs," says Mark Hemsley, CEO at BATS Chi-X Europe. "Our partnership with BX is no different; through a coherent, coordinated effort the BATS and BX teams will bring new competition and innovative improvements to the Swiss marketplace."
