Establishing ties with clearinghouses is a definite must for exchanges, in light of incoming regulatory moves.

A few Fridays ago, I visited the London Stock Exchange to meet with its CIO, Antoine Shagoury. He described how the exchange had transformed itself to cope with changes in the market over the past few years, talked about where he sees the business going in the next few years, and shared a little about his own background, all of which will be covered in more detail in the upcoming April issue of Waters.

FCA declines to directly regulate market data prices

A year-long investigation by the UK regulator to determine whether competition is hindered in the wholesale data markets has concluded with its decision not to directly regulate much-maligned data pricing and licensing structures.
