Regulator Okays Data Transmission Over TV Video Signals

Market data vendors have a new transmission method at their disposal. The Federal Communications Commission ruled on June 24 that television stations can begin using the video portion of their signals to transmit financial data. Previously, the FCC only allowed 10 lines of television's vertical blanking interval signal (VBI) to be used for this purpose.
