SWIFT Chooses VAXFT 3000 For Interbank Messaging

Digital Equipment Corp.'s new line of fault-tolerant computers has quickly been adopted by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications (SWIFT) for its ST400 network messaging service. ST400, which is used to transfer electronic messages between international banks, has used VAXs in the past, but will migrate to the VAXft 3000 Model 310 this year.

The new VAXft 3000 Model 310 was announced in late February and is the first of a series of fault-tolerant machines to be offered
