Direct Edge Takes EdgA, EdgX Exchanges Live

The US cash equities market added two new stock exchanges as Direct Edge recently launched EdgA and EdgX. The new matching engines powering the EdgA and EdgX exchanges are identical and were built from scratch, according to officials.

The engines run on Hewlett-Packard ProLiant G6 series servers powered by Microsoft Server 2008, and Intel Xeon 5500 processors.
